Recommended Fleets

As there is no branching, E1 can be approached in any way but ensure you have enough recon for outflanking:

3BB 3CV/4BB 2CV or 2BB 2CV - Resource intensive but fast

4-6DD/5DD 1CL - Higher levels reduces the potential damage dealt to your ships

About this Event

Ex1 Battle of Calabria

Italian force commanded by Vice Admiral Inigo Campioni includes 6 CAs:

  • Zara,
  • Fiume,
  • Gorizia,
  • Pola,
  • Bolzano,
  • Trento.

These are the six CAs at the BOSS point. Other Italian ships involved are distributed in other points, hence the outflanking points.

Ex2 Battle of Cape Bon
Why 4DDs?
Because British force was 4 destroyers in history.
Why D point is random?
Because Battle of Cape Bon was a battle that should not have happened! If the 2 cruisers (BOSS point) departed punctually, British destroyers should arrive at 3 o'clock and they would never meet each other. However, Italian cruisers were 1 hour late and encountered British forces. Historically, if your fleet goes to D, maybe British forces are too slow, or the Italian forces are punctual. Try again please!

MF: We are trying to tell you that your arriving at BOSS point is totally a coincidence! Are you happy with that?

Ex3 Battle of Matapan

You will notice that the BOSS ships are BB Vittorio Veneto, CA Fiume, Pola, Zara, DD Vittorio Alfieri, Giosué Carducci.

Zara, Pola and Fiume, these three ships were beaten by players in E1 already and now are going to be beaten again in E3. (Poor kids)

By the way, the commander of these three CAs is the famous Admial Carlo Cattaneo. See Carlo Cattaneo for more information.

Ex4 Allied Invasion of Sicily

OK here comes the E4:

Map

As you can see, the BOSS's name is Pachina, which is not exactly the same as the place Pachino in history. Why? This is because Pachino is a masculine word in Italian. Since our Fortress is a loli, we should change her name into Pachina, which is feminine.

Here is a map from Wikipedia: File:Sicilymap2.jpg. Where are SUB-A, SUB-B and others? SUB-A/B are actually Augusta-Syracuse region. Airfield is Catania. The Port on the fifth place is Syracuse as well because there is a port in it. The last Port is actually Gela, but changed her name into Gale in game.

Pachino Fortress was not heavily armed historically (of course not in game). However in this event, this Fortress becomes the BOSS and the true fortresses become subordinates.

400 aircraft of Airfield
It was actually based on the German air forces in Sicily at that time.
Why Pachina has so much HP?
The fortress was nearly 35km long and 7km wide. It is reasonable that a fortress of such a scale should have so much HP.
(No I'm asking you why she is 666)
666 is a Chinese Internet slang that means something similar to "cool" or "epic". You can consider it as "f**king awesome" if you see it on Internet.
Why my girls never attack BOSS?
Maybe it is because British forces were landing during this battle. What if I get a TK punishment?
Why the fleet always goes to U or R?
Because the actual attack direction was not even Augusta or Syracuse! U point is the place where U.S. landing force is and R is the British landing force. What is more, a record shows that two cruisers shot at two AA guns at Santa Croce on 12 July, and that is why we need two CAs to reach BOSS point.
Why there are so many submarines in S?
There were 12 submarines in Sicily in total. MF is so kind (is it?) that only 3 of them are dispatched.
Conclusion

Different cases about how you did the final blow on BOSS:

  • By German ships: Congratulations! You have finished what German troops did not managed to do.
  • By British ships: Congratulations! Ground forces have sent you the correct coordinate and help you find the true enemy.
  • By Andrea Doria: Congratulations! In order not to leave the fortress into enemy hands, she blew up the fortress.
  • By Vittorio Veneto: Congratulations! Well... what should I say... You win.

Recently some Admirals are trying to bomb the Fortress on land with torpedoes like what Soviet Red Army did to German forces in Siege of Sevastopol. This bug is repaired and torpedoes are useless to the Fortress since the second day of the event.
