Prince of Wales

Prince of Wales is a battleship based on HMS Prince of Wales (53).

Introduction

HMS Prince of Wales was the second vessel of King George V-class battleship. After her entry into the service, she and HMS Hood were involved in the interception against the German battleship Bismarck. She managed to land hits on Bismarck and caused damage to her oil tank. However she also suffered heavy damage during the engagement and retreated. After repair, Prince of Wales transported the Prime Minister to meet with the US President. Following the conference, they proclaimed the well-known "Atlantic Charter". Late in 1941, Prince of Wales was assigned to Force Z and involved in the battle with Japan, and she was sunk by air power on the open sea with the others.

Performance

• Due to the provisions of both the Washington Naval Treaty and the Treaty of London, both of which were still in effect when the King George Vs were being designed, the main armament of the class was limited to the 14-inch (356 mm) guns prescribed under these instruments.
• Therefore, POW is not as powerful as other battleships like Nelson. But you can get her at Lv 50, which is a great helper of novice players. Most players say that their first BB is Prince of Wales.

Operational History

• Prince of Wales is usually called "Big Brother" as she summoned an armada to encounter Bismarck after reporting the loss of Hood.
• Although she has a high anti-air value, Prince of Wales was sunk by air power together with Repulse. (A lot of the Ships's equipment was not being designed to handle hot and humid climates, thus a lot of the POW's AA failed to work due to faulty ammunition due to the climate and her Type 282 Air Search Radar units failing due to the tropical heat)

• Prince of Wales is also called "PoW" by players.("P"rince "O"f "W"ales)
• Prince of Wales likes red wine according to illustration.
• STM (POW and Fletcher's illustrator) said that if her ships become rewards of quests he would draw R18 pictures of illumoe's boss. And he did that.

Modification

• Prince of Wales's modification was available in 1.3.7. HMS and U.S.ships will benefit from it. POW: Axis ships, do you envy that? LOL~~
• Axis ships will as well get the benefit of PoW's skill,but only 50%of the buff.(so the line above this is wrong lol)
