Goeben was originally the second member of Moltke-class battlecruiser of G-country. After the war broke out, the vessel left her homeland. Facing threats from E-country navy in the Mediterranean, Goeben found refuge in the neutral T-country. G-country persuaded T-country to purchase Goeben; she was renamed Yavuz Sultan Selim and became the most powerful warship of T-country. All crew members of this T-country vessel were of G-country nationality. Yavuz (Goeben) was very active in battles in the Mediterranean region with R-country, E-country and F-country, and she, fortunately, refrained from being extradited by the Allied power. The vessel was modernized in 1937. T-country remained neutral in World War II; she remained in commission until the Cold War and was scrapped in 1971.
Named after General August Karl von Goeben.
